Made for Monday: A Little More Noticing

Made for Monday: A Little More Noticing

🧭 Made for Monday: A Little More Noticing

Monday. A new week. New opportunities. New experiences. New memories we haven’t made yet.

And somewhere between the things we’ve planned and the things that will absolutely disregard those plans…little gifts waiting to be noticed. 🧔

A kind word. An unexpected laugh. A message from someone who had no idea you needed one. A few quiet minutes before the house wakes up…a special coffee.

My favorite quiet time beverage - Honey Bee Latte…espresso, honey, vanilla, cinnamon and steamed milk.Ā

The everyday things that can slip right past us while we’re busy looking for our glasses.

Which may already be on our heads. We are doing our best. šŸ˜‚

🧭 Compass Heading

Notice the gifts along the way.

I’ve been thinking about how quickly I can make a list of everything I need to do—and how rarely I make a list of everything I’ve received.

Not purchases. Not packages.

The precious little gifts tucked into an ordinary day. The kindness someone didn’t have to offer. The beauty I almost walked past. The moment that made me pause and whisper, ā€œThank You, Lord.ā€

Time with Family

Ā

Those little God winks.

I want to pay better attention this week.

šŸ¤ Compass Bearing

Write it down before the day carries it away.

Here’s my challenge to myself: throughout the week, I’m going to write down those little gifts as I notice them.

Nothing fancy. A notebook, my phone, the back of a grocery list—somewhere between the onions and whatever I went to the store for and forgot.

Just a few words:

What happened? What made it precious?

By Thankful Thursday, I want to come back here and share what I noticed. A few small moments that might otherwise have disappeared into ā€œOh, it was just a busy week.ā€

You’re welcome to join me. One little gift a day is a beautiful place to start.

🌿 Compass Thought

Everything doesn’t have to be great for it to be a great day.

Some weeks hold hard things. Writing down the good doesn’t erase those things or mean we have to pretend.

But I can be tired and still appreciate the person who made me laugh. I can have an unfinished list and still be grateful for the conversation that interrupted it.

There is room to tell the truth about the day and notice its gifts.

So that’s how I’m stepping into Monday: with things to do, room for something unexpected, and a place to write down what I don’t want to forget.

Let’s see what we have to share by Thursday. 🧔

šŸ“– Compass Verse

ā€œThis is the day which the LORD has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.ā€
— Psalm 118:24, NASBĀ

šŸ™ Compass Prayer

Lord, thank You for another week and the people and possibilities it holds. Help me slow down enough to notice Your goodness in ordinary moments. When my mind gets crowded with what needs doing, remind me to give thanks for what I’ve received. Make me attentive to others, too, so I can offer a little kindness along the way. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Find your way home.
