The Weekend Compass đź§đź¤Ť
November 6–8, 2026 | A Little Sunshine, A Lot of Helping Hands
Good evening, Compass friends!
Well, goodness gracious.
Usually, Thursday evening means we’re rounding up farmers markets, festivals, music, art, and all the wonderful little reasons to get out and explore our Treasure Coast.
And we’re still going to do that.
But this week? Our compass is pointing toward our neighbors first.
Between the relentless rain, rising water, flooded homes, struggling farms, and roads that have become something resembling canals, it’s been quite a week.
And for some families, the hard part isn’t over.
While a few of us might be thinking about finding a farmers market or grabbing something delicious from a food truck, others are figuring out where to move their animals, how to protect their homes, and what can possibly be salvaged.
Both realities exist right here in our community.
So this week’s Weekend Compass comes with a little extra care.
We’re sharing events that are still listed for the weekend, noting known cancellations, and encouraging everyone to check directly with organizers before heading out.
Because sunshine in the forecast doesn’t necessarily mean the water has gone away.
And nobody needs to discover a closed road halfway to the kettle corn.
🧠Friday, November 6 — A Little Music and Community

Live music, food vendors, crafts, and a little waterfront community spirit. Admission is free.
Food Trucks & Tributes | Tradition

Because of flooding in the Tradition area, this is one I’d absolutely verify before leaving home.

A second day to browse local businesses and perhaps get a little Christmas shopping started.
⚠️ Before You Grab Your Keys
Canceled: The St. Lucie County 4-H Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday, November 7, will not take place because of flooding at the farm.
Use extra caution: Some parks, trails, and roads throughout the Treasure Coast remain affected by flooding. Other events may change plans at short notice.
Please check the organizer’s latest updates, confirm the venue and parking, and never drive through standing water.
A pretty Saturday afternoon is not worth putting yourself or someone coming to rescue you in danger.
🤍 A Different Kind of Weekend Adventure
And here’s another idea for this weekend.
Maybe your outing doesn’t involve a festival at all.
Maybe it involves taking a meal to someone who’s been cleaning up floodwater.
Checking on a neighbor.
Helping move supplies.
Offering a trailer, a truck, a pair of work gloves, or a few hours of your time.
Maybe it means supporting a local business that’s had a terribly difficult week.
Or simply calling someone and asking, “What do you need?”
Sometimes the best places our compass takes us aren’t destinations.
They’re people.
🧠Compass Thought
I’ve been reminded this week that community isn’t just about gathering when everything is beautiful.
It’s about showing up when things are muddy, inconvenient, exhausting, and uncertain.
It’s easy to love our little corner of Florida when the sun is shining and the river is sparkling.
But love gets its work boots on when the water rises.
And that’s when we find out just how much our neighbors mean to us.
🧠Compass Verse
Galatians 6:2 (NASB)
“Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.”
🧠Compass Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We lift up our Treasure Coast neighbors who are still dealing with flooding, loss, and uncertainty.
Protect families, first responders, farmers, animals, and everyone working to bring relief.
Give strength to those who are exhausted, wisdom to those making difficult decisions, and helping hands to those who need them.
Remind us to notice the needs around us and love our neighbors in practical ways.
May this weekend bring safety, a little rest, and hope for the days ahead.
Amen. 🤍
Compass friends, what have we missed?
Has an event been canceled, moved, or rescheduled? Is there a local business, family, or organization that could use a little extra community support this weekend?
Please share in the comments so we can help one another.
Notice More. Love Well. Gather Often.
Find Your Way Home.
